In case you're confused...

We were thinking maybe yesterday.  Then maybe today.  Maybe it's tomorrow.

This is the last week of the Supreme Court's current term.  The justices normally recess in July.  That means that, barring an unusual extension into July, this week is the Court's last to issue a ruling on the fate of California's Proposition 8, in which glassy eyed voters passed by two percent a referendum limiting marriages to between one man and one woman, and DOMA, wherein Congress in 1996 decided the federal government wouldn't recognize marriages of same-sex couples even in states where they were legal.  Even though they weren't legal in any state until 2004 and the federal government had always been content to leave family law up to the states.

Lambda Legal has prepared this succinct cheat-sheet to help you understand how the court may decide tomorrow.  Or... not.

  1. We are watching with anticipation as we really hope to bring our son home to a country that doesn't discriminate against love. Fingers crossed here in Delhi.
